How To Fix a Broken Fuse
It’s surprisingly easy for a fuse to blow and it can be a frustrating problem. If your appliance stops working for no apparent reason, always check the fuse. It’s easy to change a fuse with our tips.

- Before changing your fuse, ensure the power is turned off or that you’re dealing with an appliance that is unplugged
- Be sure to double check you have the right fuse. As a standard rule, most items up to 720 watts require a 3 amp fuse and anything else between 720 and 3000 watts requires a 13 amp fuse
- Unscrew the underside of the plug between the pins and remove the cover
- Lift out the fuse
- Fit the replacement fuse into the holder and ensure that it is held firmly. Replace the cover and screw it back up
