Smart lawn
In the future gardens will see a fusion of tradition and technology. In America, where sprinklers are very common, wireless devices such as Blossom monitor weather reports to regulate watering the lawn. Blossom uses weather intelligence from multiple forecast services and automatically adjusts produce a highly accurate watering plan, ensuring gardens stay green.
Smart lawnmower
Now widely available, robotic lawn mowers are guided by sensors, not gardeners. An algorithm enables the robot to cut grass across the entire surface of your lawn. Other than the fact that they are hands-free, they have similar characteristics with the traditional electric mowers, such as revolving blades and rear and front wheels to turn left or right. This means they are robust enough to work on almost any terrain.
Smart flowers
For flower lovers, multi-sensor gadgets such as the strangely shaped Parrot Flower Power and the Koubachi Wi-Fi Plant Sensor will keep tabs on everything from soil acidity to temperature. In a pot or in the ground, they can monitor and analyse indicators of your plant's health. With real time information and chart plotting, your green thumb may feel redundant.
Smart indoor garden
Developed in the USA the Click & Grow Robot Garden is at the forefront of technology. This smart garden looks a little like a plant-growing hostess trolley and uses cutting-edge research to produce high yields, fast growth and nutritious produce. It provides plants with the perfect amount of water, light and nutrients and may be a vision of the allotment of the future.
Smart farm
If your garden is very large, or if indeed you actually have a farm, you may be interested in the FarmBot project. The FarmBot’s universal tool mount has drills, nozzles and seed injectors, which automatically takes the hard work out of planting. Tools are magnetically coupled to the mount allowing FarmBot to automatically select the perfect tool, so you can pretty much leave it to get on with the job.
