Storage Solutions for Your Garden

No matter how big or how tiny your garden is, storage is crucial if you want to get the full benefit of using it. Here are some useful tips that will save on space and fit into any garden design.

Vertical bike sheds

Bikes can take up a lot of space, especially if the whole family owns one. Rather than them stacked against each other, invest in or build a bike shed where you can suspend them on the walls vertically. Rather than jutting outwards and taking up precious meters, they’ll hang neatly next to each other.

Seating

Combining storage and seats is a brilliant idea as you can get some fun and homely furniture that makes great seating, but also serves as a huge wooden box, perfect for toys, garden tools and cushions and throws that aren’t weatherproof. Shop around garden centres and you’ll be sure to find multifunctional seating that stores more seating inside for when you have a few extra guests.

Hang it up

Whether you use storage tubs, buckets or baskets, hang them up on walls or fences for a great, kid friendly storage solution. Ideal for toys, gardening equipment and pegs for the washing line, the possibilities are endless, especially if you use lidded buckets to store items such as bird food or BBQ equipment that need a bit more protection.

Boot storage

Fed up tripping over muddy welly boots that sit outside the back door? Then hang your boots outside your home! It will save space, the wellies will hang upside down so they won’t get wet on the inside, they’ll look nice and neat and you won’t have to spend a fortune on it. You can buy these hangers from most home stores, or they're not too hard to make yourself!

Hose

Although great for keeping your plants alive and looking beautiful, garden hoses can be a bit of an eyesore. That’s why we recommend turning a plant pot into storage! Whether you buy or try your hand at a bit of DIY, these boxes are perfect for saving space. The hose pipe goes into a wooden box on its reel with a door or draw to enable easy access. The top of the box gives you the space to plant extra flowers or herbs, which add a lovely finish.
