Chocolate Orange Torte
Everyone associates Terry’s Chocolate Oranges with Christmas and this recipe is rich and squidgy, ridiculously easy to make, freezes in advance and is perfect for a Christmas Day dessert.

To Serve 10, you will need:
- 200g unsalted butter
- 157g Dark Terry’s Chocolate Orange
- 50g Dark Chocolate
- 4 large eggs
- 200g golden caster sugar
- 50g plain flour
- 50g ground almonds
- Salt
- Chocolate sauce, berries and cream to serve
- Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Butter the base and sides of a 23cm loose-bottomed cake tin.
- Use an electric whisk to beat the eggs and sugar together for 5 minutes, until the mixture is very pale and quite thick.
- Over a low heat, gently melt the butter and chocolate together in a pan on the hob.
- Fold the chocolate and butter mix carefully into the sugar and eggs, being careful not to stir out all the air bubbles.
- Add the flour, almonds and a ¼ tsp salt into the mix, again folding everything in carefully.
- Pour into the cake tin and bake for 35 minutes until there is a light crust across the top of the torte.
- Let the torte cool for 15 minutes before slicing and serving with the chocolate sauce, cream and berries!
