Staplers
Who says stapling can’t be fun? Did you know that you can get coloured staples to go into your favourite stapler? That way, you can add a splash of colour to your work that’s subtle enough to bring a smile to someone’s face. Maped and Rexel both produce staples in several shades and also in several sizes, meaning you don’t have to feel left out with your slightly unusually sized stapler. Packets of 800 are normally available for a couple of pounds and if you don’t staple that much, this is a bargain that will leave a lasting impression.
If you’re less interested in adding colour to your work, why not consider a stapleless stapler? They work by cutting a small hole and threading the paper through. Small versions can “staple” up to five sheets at a time, but bigger ones are able to double that capacity. This is handy if you don’t staple very many pages together and if you wish to reduce waste. Not only that, but you’ll never have to buy staples again.
Desk Tidy
Now we all know how useful desk tidies can be, but did you know that you can go one step further and have a tape dispenser, pen pot and tiny shelf all in one? J-Me has released the Rewind Desk Tidy, which not only looks like a cassette tape, but holds a small roll of tape on one end with enough room on the other end for your pens. There is also a shallow tray in the middle that’s handy for keeping pins, paperclips or Blu-Tac. You’ll reduce the amount of clutter on your desk while looking effortlessly stylish.
If you’re after something a little more fun, why not consider the Notester? Thinking Gifts has created a multi-functional desk organiser for your sticky notes, phone and paper clips, as well as including a pencil sharpener. You’ll never be stuck with a blunt pencil or without a note to jot on again.
Multi-Functional Pens
Remember those Bic four-colour pens? Imagine having the option of a pen or a pencil instead. Companies big and small are manufacturing multi-functional pens that reduce the clutter in your pen pot by combining two (or even up to five) writing implements into one. Big names like Lamy and Cross have developed pens that house a ballpoint (or two) as well as a mechanical pencil, and they’re easy to refill. Lamy has also gone one step further and incorporated a highlighter into the mix! If you’re worried about cost, though, budget versions from Bic or Uniball are also available. With one of these utility-belt-like pens in your possession, you’ll be the envy of the office.
