Ice-Lolly Ballerinas
Design the face, hair and shoes of your ballerina using felt tip pens on a lolly stick. Next, wrap a pipe cleaner around the stick for her arms. Finally, you need a cupcake case to create her tutu. Fold the case in half and attach to your ballerina using sticky tape.
You can make a superhero in a similar way but use a triangular piece of card for the cape. Why not have the little ones create and perform a play for you?
Dream Catchers
Paper plates with the centre cut out make great dream catchers. Make a series of holes around the edge of the plate and thread wool through the holes and across the centre of the ring. Be as creative as you like and thread beads and feathers onto your wool. Make your design even more authentic by adding long strands of twine finished with feathers and attach to the bottom.
Wool Bangle
Empty toilet rolls are the perfect size and shape for children's wrists. Cut a 2cm strip off a roll; you can cut through the strip as this will make a 'C' shape to enable the bangle to be put on more easily. Tape the end of a strand of wool to the card and wind the wool around. Make sure you cover the card as you go. You could alternate colours by simply knotting new wool and continuing to wrap. Once covered, snip and secure the end of the wool by tucking it under some strands on the reverse of your bangle.
Egg Carton Flowers
Old egg cartons are perfect for some spring time decoration! Simply cut flower shapes into the portion that holds the eggs; you can create spiky leaves, rounded petals or square shapes to get a bouquet that holds a lot of variety! Paint the flowers and leave to dry. Create a wreath by sticking the flowers onto a wreath cut out of green card, or attach each flower to a lolly stick for individual flowers.
