Britain's Beautiful Beaches
With such accessible flights all over the world, we sometimes forget some of the luxuries we have here in the UK, especially these beautiful beaches that are well worth a visit this summer.

1. Llandudno Beach, North Wales
Llandudno is a fascinating place to visit with its castle and original shops, but the beach is a definite high point. With crystal clear sea and a white sandy beach that could persuade you that you were holidaying in the Med, Llandudno has everything a beach could need.
2. White Sands Beach, Dunbar
If Scotland is perhaps thought of more for mountains and lochs than beaches, then Dunbar might be the place to change your mind. The sunniest place in Scotland – and fourth sunniest in the UK – Dunbar has a pretty town centre and quite a selection of beaches. White Sands has a lot of variety in a small area: perfect sand, rock pools, and grassy picnic areas.
3. Whitley Bay, North East
With a blue flag beach that stretches from Whitley Bay North to St Anne's lighthouse, and seafront shops and entertainment for when you tire of the beach, Whitley Bay has been a popular holiday choice for well over a hundred years.
4. St Ives, Cornwall
No guide to UK beaches could be complete without a visit to Cornwall. The choice is so wide and the variety so large that it's hard to select only one or two – it's entirely possible to make a whistle-stop tour of fifteen beaches in one day! St Ives may just win the prize, however, because it's so much more than just one beach – there are fourteen beaches listed just in and around St Ives. The character varies from the tiny harbour-side St Ives Harbour Beach overlooked by pretty waterside cafes, to the huge expanse of sand at Porthmeor Beach.
