Dad Olympics

For the active and competitive father, you can invite some families around to your home and have a set of activities that test fitness, agility and smarts. The activities do not have to be too complicated or strenuous, as the kids are likely to want to join in as well. Activities can range from three-legged races, egg throwing, timed puzzle fixing, and wheelbarrow races. The kids can help decorate the props and the garden with sporting pictures and signs. Alternatively, make it an exclusive family event that pits everyone against Dad.

Movie Marathon Day

Everyone loves the movies, no matter what their age. You can arrange a cinema in your lounge or family room and pick out all Dad’s favourite films. Be sure to add some movies that the kids love so the whole family gets to enjoy the day. The kids can help you fix all of Dad’s favourite movie snacks as well. Don’t forget the popcorn!

Game Night

Try to get some classic board games from Dad’s childhood and haul out some old ones that the family enjoy playing. You can arrange a game night in the family room and let Dad relive his childhood by indulging in all the classic games. The kids will have fun joining in and it’ll bring everyone together.

Campfire Night

For the father that enjoys the outdoors, you can arrange a camping night around a campfire. Gather all of his favourite foods that he enjoys cooking outdoors or on a barbecue and set up a tent in the back garden for the whole family to spend the night. It’s comfort camping within the boundary of your home. It will be nice to get everyone together and enjoy the warmth of the campfire. Roasted marshmallows are a must!

Pizza Time

This is a fun activity that the whole family can enjoy. Get all the ingredients needed to make Dad’s favourite pizza. Make the pizzas from scratch, starting with the base. The kids will love playing with the dough and Dad will enjoy showing off his culinary skills.

Indiana Jones Day

Get the kids to pick out a few small gifts for Dad. On Father’s Day, hide all the gifts in and around the house. Get the kids to help you draw out a special map of where all the gifts are and let Dad be Indiana Jones for the day. He can use the map to find all the gifts hidden around the house.
