Easy Ways To Add Storage To Your New Home

Moving home is always a stressful time and even more so when unpacking and discovering you don’t have enough storage space. Here’s how you can improve storage in your new home.

  • Pots and pans can take up a lot of valuable cupboard space, so why not create a rustic feel in your home and hang them on a pan rack from the ceiling? You can buy these for as little as £20 and creates a homely feel in your kitchen

  • Ottomans are great storage options as they come in a range of designs that can work in any room. Not only can your ottoman hold lots of clutter you don’t want on display, i.e, magazines, toys, blankets and throws, it’ll also act as extra seating, a foot rest or even a side table depending on your chosen style

  • Plastic containers under the bed are old school now, especially with the beautiful range of bed bases in the shops these days. Divan beds are must haves for the kids and make it easy to store away toys and games with no fuss. For the grown-ups, try a storage bed where the whole frame lifts or one that has built in draws for optimum, classy storage space

  • Bins are never the prettiest thing to look at in a home, which is why we suggest building them into your cupboards. Attach your bin to the cupboard door and as you open it, the bin will come with it, making it easy to access and change, as well as hiding it from sight

  • Got a spare draw that you’re not sure what to do with? Put a fold-out ironing board in there and save space whilst doing your chores!

  • Many of us have suffered the fate of buying too much food shopping and then having nowhere to store it when we get home. Try installing thin shelves at different layers of the cupboard or pantry so you can store more items, rather than trying to stack everything on top of each other and risking toppling food

  • If you’ve moved into a flat, you might not have a banister to hang damp towels over, or you just might not like the clutter. Installing a second shower rail is great for drying towels as an extra space saver

  • Magnetic strips are handy in the home, whether you want to hang your knives on the wall or even beauty products such as tweezers, hair grips and nail clippers. These can be placed easily with no nails glue or a few small screws

Keep your outside area in order too with great storage solutions for your garden!
